Mary Capan is a self represented artist and designer who creates new & elegant styles of contemporary art. Inspired by Monet, Dali, Picasso and Chagall. Mary creates textured abstract art, landscapes, watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings. Abstract 3D vision - Mary Capan has pioneered the inserting of genuine gemstones and jewel stones as agates, turquoises, corals, jade or amber into her paintings. Recently, Mary has been experimenting with a retro style of metallic wall sculptures and glass paints. Her older style was the stripe and swirls style that made Mary Capan famous. These paintings were created with smoothly painted bands of even color echoing the strictly geometric shapes of the canvas.

These days, her art has been shifting gradually to less symmetrical abstractions that jump out from the surface into three dimensions. This 3 D method then evolved into the use of richly layered mazes of curves covered with metallic splotchy scribbles; and then to exuberantly sculptural creations, colored metallic effects with original jewel gemstones implanted right into the painting.
